Terms of use
Last updated: September 2025
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of cinezs.com, including the content, features, tools, functionality, and other products and services made available through Cinezs (collectively, the “Services”). The Services are provided by Cinezs Limited (“Cinezs”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). References to “you” or “your” mean any person who accesses, browses, registers for, contributes to, or otherwise uses the Services. By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Services. Your use of the Services is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and otherwise process personal information.
2. About Cinezs and the Services
Cinezs is a film-focused platform designed to help users discover, explore, rate, review, discuss, and engage with films and film-related content. The Services may include film pages, ratings, reviews, user profiles, lists, search and discovery features, cast and crew information, images, editorial articles, blog posts, entertainment news, recommendations, community features, and other film-related functionality. Features may be introduced, modified, removed, limited, or replaced over time. The availability of a particular feature at any given time does not create an obligation for Cinezs to continue providing that feature permanently. Cinezs is primarily an information, discovery, and community platform. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Cinezs does not provide users with ownership or licensing rights to the films referenced through the Services.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services. If the laws applicable where you live require a higher minimum age to use online services or to consent to the processing of personal information, that higher age requirement applies to you. By using the Services, you represent that you meet the applicable minimum age requirements and that you are legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. If you are using the Services on behalf of a company, organization, or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
4. Accounts and Registration
Some parts of the Services may be available without an account, while other features may require registration. When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information where requested and to keep relevant account information reasonably up to date. You may not create an account using another person’s identity without authorization, falsely represent your affiliation with another person or organization, impersonate another user, or use materially misleading account information. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must promptly notify us if you believe that your account has been accessed without authorization or that your credentials have been compromised. We may require you to verify your account, reset your credentials, or take other reasonable security measures where necessary to protect your account or the Services.
5. Usernames, Profiles and Identity
Where Cinezs allows you to choose a username, display name, profile image, biography, or other public profile information, you are responsible for the information you choose to display. You must not use profile information to impersonate another person, falsely suggest that you are affiliated with Cinezs or another organization, mislead other users about your identity, or infringe another person’s intellectual property or other legal rights. Usernames are made available as part of the Services and do not become your property. We may change, reclaim, restrict, or remove usernames where reasonably necessary because of impersonation, infringement, inactivity, fraud, security concerns, misleading use, or violations of these Terms.
6. Your Licence to Use the Services
Subject to these Terms, Cinezs grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable right to access and use the Services for their intended purposes. This right does not transfer ownership of any Cinezs software, design, database, branding, technology, content, or other intellectual property to you. Unless otherwise expressly authorized by Cinezs, the Services may not be reproduced, sold, licensed, commercially exploited, or redistributed as a substitute for Cinezs or as part of another commercial service. All rights not expressly granted to you under these Terms are reserved by Cinezs and its licensors.
7. Film Information and Content
Cinezs may display information relating to films and other audiovisual works, including titles, original titles, descriptions, release dates, genres, runtime, cast and crew information, production information, posters, backdrops, images, ratings, popularity information, and other related material. Some information displayed through the Services may be provided by third parties or obtained from external sources. Although we aim to provide useful and accurate information, we do not guarantee that every title, release date, credit, image, description, runtime, classification, or other piece of film information is complete, current, or error-free. Film information may vary between territories, distributors, releases, and sources. Cinezs may correct, update, replace, or remove information at any time. The existence of a page relating to a film, actor, filmmaker, studio, distributor, or other entity does not mean that the relevant person or entity is affiliated with, sponsors, endorses, or is endorsed by Cinezs.
8. Ratings, Reviews and Community Opinions
Cinezs may allow users to rate, review, discuss, or otherwise express opinions about films. Ratings and reviews are inherently subjective. User ratings, reviews, comments, lists, or other opinions do not represent the views of Cinezs merely because they appear through the Services. Aggregate scores may be calculated using methods determined by Cinezs and may change as additional ratings are received or as we improve the way ratings are calculated. We may exclude or disregard activity that we reasonably believe is fraudulent, automated, duplicated, coordinated, manipulated, or otherwise unreliable. You must not attempt to artificially increase or decrease a film’s rating, ranking, popularity, or other community metric. This includes using multiple accounts, automated tools, purchased engagement, coordinated artificial voting, or other methods primarily intended to distort genuine user activity. Disagreement with another person’s opinion about a film is not itself a violation of these Terms. Users are expected to distinguish legitimate criticism and discussion from targeted harassment or abuse.
9. User Content
The Services may allow you to submit, create, publish, upload, or otherwise make content available through Cinezs (“User Content”). User Content may include reviews, ratings, comments, lists, profile information, text, images, links, descriptions, recommendations, and other material submitted through your account. You retain any ownership rights you already have in your original User Content. Cinezs does not acquire ownership of your original works simply because you publish them through the Services. You are responsible for your User Content and should only submit material that you have the legal right to use and publish. You represent that your User Content does not knowingly violate applicable law, infringe another person’s intellectual property rights, unlawfully disclose private information, or contain material that you are not legally permitted to make available.
10. Licence to User Content
By submitting User Content through the Services, you grant Cinezs a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable licence to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, format, distribute, communicate, index, moderate, and otherwise use that User Content as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, improve, promote, and provide the Services. For example, this licence allows us to display your review on a film page, show your public content on your profile, make public reviews searchable, create technical backups, format content for different devices, moderate content, and display public Cinezs activity in connection with promoting the Services. This licence does not prevent you from using your own content elsewhere. If you remove User Content, it will generally cease to be publicly displayed through your account after deletion is processed. Copies may temporarily remain in backups, caches, security records, or other technical systems. We may also retain information where reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, enforce these Terms, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, or protect Cinezs and its users.
11. Public Content
Certain information and User Content you publish through Cinezs may be publicly available. Public content may be viewed by people who do not have Cinezs accounts, indexed by search engines, linked to by third-party websites, quoted or shared by other users, or retained in external caches or archives outside our control. You should therefore avoid publishing information that you do not want to make public. Where privacy or visibility settings are offered, those settings control how Cinezs presents your content but cannot guarantee that another person will not copy, capture, quote, or share content that was previously visible to them.
12. Community Conduct
Cinezs is intended to provide a place where people can discover and discuss films while respecting other members of the community. You may criticize films, filmmakers, performances, reviews, ratings, artistic choices, and the opinions of other users. You may disagree strongly with another user. However, you may not use the Services to threaten, stalk, intimidate, impersonate, maliciously target, or repeatedly harass another person. You must not use Cinezs to publish unlawful threats, encourage serious violence, expose another person’s private information without lawful justification, facilitate fraud, distribute malware, engage in phishing, sexually exploit minors, or conduct other unlawful activity. Content promoting unlawful hatred, violence, or discrimination against people on the basis of legally protected characteristics may also be restricted or removed. Context matters when we evaluate content. Discussion, criticism, satire, quotation, historical analysis, or discussion of controversial subject matter will not necessarily be treated in the same way as content intended to threaten, harass, or incite harm.
13. Spam, Manipulation and Abuse of the Services
You must not use the Services in a way that undermines the integrity or normal operation of Cinezs. This includes creating accounts primarily to manipulate ratings or engagement, generating artificial likes or follows, posting repetitive unsolicited advertising, distributing deceptive links, coordinating fraudulent reports, using accounts to evade enforcement actions, or intentionally disrupting discussions. You may not use multiple accounts to create false consensus, circumvent account restrictions, harass another user, or manipulate popularity or ranking systems. We may remove artificial activity and adjust ratings, engagement counts, rankings, or other metrics where we reasonably believe manipulation has occurred.
14. Prohibited Technical Activity
You may not interfere with the security, integrity, or normal operation of the Services. Without authorization, you must not attempt to access non-public systems or data, bypass authentication controls, probe the Services for vulnerabilities, introduce malicious code, conduct denial-of-service attacks, interfere with technical protections, circumvent security restrictions, or gain unauthorized access to another user’s account. You may not remove, disable, bypass, or interfere with copyright notices, access controls, rate limits, technical protection mechanisms, or other restrictions implemented through the Services. Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code from software used to provide the Services.
15. Automated Access, Scraping and Data Use
Unless expressly authorized by Cinezs, you may not use bots, crawlers, spiders, scraping software, automated browsers, scripts, data-mining tools, or similar automated methods to systematically access or extract content or data from the Services. In particular, you may not use automated methods to reproduce substantial portions of Cinezs, build a substitute film database, systematically collect user profiles or reviews, circumvent technical limits, or commercially redistribute data obtained from Cinezs. Ordinary indexing by generally recognized public search engines may be permitted subject to the technical instructions made available by Cinezs. Unless expressly authorized by us or permitted by a right that cannot legally be restricted, you may not systematically use Cinezs content, User Content, or substantial datasets obtained from the Services for training, fine-tuning, developing, or operating artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
16. Intellectual Property Rights
Cinezs and its licensors retain all rights in the intellectual property associated with the Services. This may include Cinezs branding, logos, original written content, website design, graphics, user interface elements, software, databases, database organization, compilations, recommendation systems, ranking systems, and other original material created or licensed by Cinezs. The Cinezs name, logo, and related branding may not be used in a way that falsely suggests endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, or affiliation with Cinezs. Films, film titles, posters, backdrops, still images, photographs, trademarks, studio logos, promotional artwork, and similar materials displayed through the Services may belong to their respective copyright, trademark, or other rights holders. The appearance of third-party material on Cinezs does not grant you permission to reproduce, redistribute, commercially exploit, or otherwise use that material outside the rights provided by applicable law.
17. Copyright and Intellectual Property Complaints
Cinezs respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same. If you believe that material available through the Services infringes intellectual property rights that you own or are authorized to enforce, you may contact us using the legal or contact information made available through Cinezs. Your notice should identify the protected work, identify the material you believe is infringing, provide sufficient information for us to locate the material, include your contact information, and explain the basis for your claim. We may request additional information where reasonably necessary to evaluate a complaint. Where appropriate or required by law, we may remove or restrict access to allegedly infringing material and may suspend or terminate users who repeatedly or seriously infringe intellectual property rights. You must not intentionally submit fraudulent, misleading, or abusive intellectual property complaints.
18. Moderation and Enforcement
Cinezs may moderate activity taking place through the Services. Where we reasonably believe content or activity violates these Terms, applicable law, or the rights or safety of others, we may remove or restrict content, issue warnings, limit account features, invalidate ratings or engagement, temporarily suspend accounts, permanently terminate accounts, or take other reasonable action. We are not required to review every piece of User Content before publication, and the continued availability of User Content does not mean that Cinezs has approved or endorsed it. When deciding how to respond to a violation, we may consider factors including severity, context, intent, frequency, previous violations, risk to other users, and applicable legal obligations. In urgent situations involving security, fraud, child safety, serious abuse, or legal requirements, we may take action without advance notice.
19. Account Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Cinezs at any time and may request deletion of your account where account deletion functionality is available. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to some or all of the Services where we reasonably believe that you have materially or repeatedly violated these Terms, created a security risk, engaged in fraud or manipulation, infringed another person’s rights, or used the Services unlawfully. We may also restrict or discontinue access where required by law or where all or part of the Services are discontinued. Following termination, you may lose access to your profile, ratings, reviews, lists, preferences, or other information associated with your account. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including provisions relating to intellectual property, liability, disputes, and applicable User Content licences, will continue to apply.
20. Third-Party Content, Services and Links
The Services may contain information, media, links, embedded content, or functionality originating from third parties. Third-party websites and services are not controlled by Cinezs and may have their own terms, privacy policies, and practices. A link or reference to a third-party service does not necessarily mean that Cinezs endorses, sponsors, or guarantees that service. Cinezs is not responsible for the availability, content, security, accuracy, privacy practices, products, or conduct of independent third parties, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
21. Editorial Content, News and Recommendations
Cinezs may publish editorial articles, entertainment news, recommendations, commentary, summaries, or other film-related material. Although we seek to provide useful information, editorial content may contain opinions and may rely on information available at the time of publication. Information can subsequently change. Recommendations, rankings, popularity indicators, search results, or similar features may be generated using editorial decisions, automated systems, user activity, ratings, popularity, relevance, recency, or other factors. Their presentation does not constitute a guarantee of quality or an objective determination that one film is better than another. Cinezs may modify its recommendation, search, rating, or ranking systems over time.
22. Changes and Availability of the Services
We may modify, improve, redesign, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the Services. We do not guarantee that Cinezs or any particular feature will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Temporary disruptions may occur because of maintenance, updates, hosting problems, network failures, third-party failures, security incidents, excessive traffic, legal requirements, or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Where reasonably possible, we may attempt to minimize disruption, but we do not guarantee continuous availability.
24. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Services, applicable law, technologies, security requirements, business practices, or other legitimate reasons. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of these Terms. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice before material changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those Terms where permitted by law. If you do not agree to an updated version of the Terms, you should stop using the Services.
24. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Cinezs does not guarantee that the Services will always be available, that all content will be accurate or complete, that all errors will be corrected, that every feature will work on every device, or that third-party information will remain available. User reviews, ratings, comments, and other User Content are created by users and do not necessarily represent the views of Cinezs. Cinezs does not guarantee that you will agree with or find useful any film rating, review, recommendation, ranking, or other opinion displayed through the Services. To the extent permitted by law, Cinezs disclaims warranties that may otherwise arise regarding merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or similar implied warranties. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty, guarantee, statutory right, or other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.
25. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cinezs and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Services. This includes, without limitation, losses resulting from interruption or unavailability of the Services, loss of data, reliance on inaccurate or incomplete information, actions or content of other users, unauthorized access outside our reasonable control, third-party websites or services, or changes to or discontinuation of any feature of the Services. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the total aggregate liability of Cinezs for all claims arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid directly to Cinezs, if any, during the twelve months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US $100. The limitations in this section apply regardless of the legal theory on which a claim is based, including contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, and even if Cinezs has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some states or jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability. Where such laws apply to you, some of the limitations above may not apply, and our liability will be limited only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
26. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cinezs and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, and licensors from and against third-party claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, and reasonable costs and expenses arising out of or relating to your material violation of these Terms, your unlawful use of the Services, User Content you submit through the Services, or your infringement of another person’s rights. Cinezs reserves the right to assume control of the defense of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you. If we do so, you agree to reasonably cooperate with our defense of the claim. This section does not require you to indemnify Cinezs for conduct for which indemnification cannot legally be required.
27. If You Live in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland
If you live in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have mandatory rights under the consumer, digital services, contract, privacy, and other laws applicable in your country. Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or restrict rights that cannot legally be waived or restricted. Where applicable law gives you mandatory rights concerning digital services, contractual changes, content moderation, account restrictions, complaints, termination, or remedies, those rights will apply notwithstanding any conflicting provision of these Terms. Where applicable, you may also have rights to receive information about certain decisions affecting your content or account and to challenge qualifying decisions through procedures required by applicable law. Any provision of these Terms that conflicts with mandatory consumer protection law applicable to you will apply only to the extent permitted by that law. The governing law and jurisdiction provisions below do not prevent you from relying on mandatory protections or bringing a claim before the courts available to you where applicable consumer law gives you that right. Our collection and processing of personal information is addressed separately in our Privacy Policy.
28. California Users and Residents
If you are a resident of California, you retain any consumer rights and protections that cannot be waived under California law.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to restrict rights that California law requires us to provide to you.
Where applicable to the Services, California residents may also contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs regarding unresolved consumer complaints.
The Complaint Assistance Unit may be contacted in writing at:
1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112
Sacramento, California 95834
or by telephone at +1 (800) 952-5210.
This information is provided as a consumer notice and does not mean that the California Department of Consumer Affairs endorses, sponsors, approves, or is affiliated with Cinezs.
California privacy rights, where applicable, are described separately in our Privacy Policy.
29. Governing Law, Disputes and Consumer Rights
Except where mandatory law provides otherwise, these Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be governed by the laws of the state in which Cinezs maintains its principal place of business, together with applicable federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any mandatory rights available to you under applicable law, disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate state or federal courts located in that state. Before commencing formal legal proceedings, you and Cinezs are encouraged to make a reasonable effort to resolve the dispute informally. You may contact us with a description of the issue and the relief you are seeking.Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory consumer protection, privacy right, legal remedy, or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent legally permissible or, where necessary, severed from these Terms. The remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it in the future. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. Cinezs may assign or transfer these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate restructuring, financing, sale of assets, or transfer of all or part of the Services, subject to applicable law.
30. General Terms and Contact
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional policies or terms expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the agreement between you and Cinezs concerning your use of the Services. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, partnership, joint venture, franchise, fiduciary relationship, or agency between you and Cinezs. The headings used in these Terms are provided for convenience only and do not affect their interpretation. Words such as “including” and “such as” are illustrative and do not limit the scope of the preceding language. Cinezs may provide notices relating to the Services or these Terms through the Services, by email, through your account, or by another reasonable electronic communication method. If these Terms are translated into another language, the translation may be provided for convenience. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the English version will control in the event of a conflict between the English version and a translation. Provisions that by their nature are intended to survive termination of your account or these Terms will continue to apply after termination, including provisions concerning intellectual property, User Content licences where applicable, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and disputes. If you have questions about these Terms, need assistance with your account, wish to report content or conduct, or want to submit a legal or intellectual property complaint, you may contact Cinezs using the contact information or support methods made available on cinezs.com.
By accessing or continuing to use the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. For questions about these Terms, please contact us.
